Tea has been around for a fairly long time. In fact, it was around about 2737 B.C. when according to legend, it was first discovered by Chinese emperor Shen Nung when he was sitting under a tea tree with a bowl of boiled water. The tea leaves fell in his bowl and changed the color of the water. The emperor took a sip of it and was amazed by its flavor. There are other stories about the origin of tea where it’s believed the emperor tried and tested many herbs on his own body and concluded that tea leaves had restorative properties. The Chinese were first to have used tea as a beverage!
